Oxford Pharmascience (LON:OXP) has strengthened its board with the appointment of pharmaceutical industry veteran John Goddard as its independent non-executive director.
Goddard, 62, was head of group strategic planning and business development at AstraZeneca when he retired in 2010.
Dave Norwood, Oxford Pharmascience’s chairman said his experience in the industry would bring a valuable skill to the board as it initiates the commercialisation of its drug pipeline.
At AstraZeneca, Goodard headed a 100-strong team focused on M&A and licensing that completed around 75 transactions in four years including several acquisitions, in-licensing and out-licensing of compounds and disposals.
He is currently on the board of Optos and IntasPharmaceuticals Limited.
Oxford Pharma yesterday announced Marcelo Bravo the company’s founder and chief technological officer was to become its new chief executive.
